A Boutique Break Café
The Great Commoner opened in May 2021 at 22001 Michigan Avenue in Dearborn as a "Boutique Break Café": a place for everyone, at any time of day. Brunch with friends, a meeting over coffee and pastries, or a grab-and-go salad or sandwich on the way back to work.
The menu mixed café classics with Mediterranean flavors, and two dishes became its signatures: the Labneh Plate and the French omelette. A second location opened in Ann Arbor in 2022, ran for about a year, and was sold to MK Cannelle.
In 2024 Afor Concepts sold The Great Commoner. The Dearborn café is still open under its new owner, with the same website and Instagram, so you can still stop in.
